HANUKKAH LIGHTS CANDLES IN TKUMA CENTER

“Let the fire flaming ever” (Haim Nahman Bialyk) – under such motto Tkuma Center has conducted the practical seminar for Dnepropetrovsk junior school students on December 6th, 2007. Tkuma Center seminar welcomed 3-4 grades’ students of L.I. Shneerson specialized school #144 (mentor – Svitlana Vitkovska). While defining the seminar tasks and activities, the organizers paid attention to the traditions of Hanukkah celebration and its connection with the historical past of the Jewish community in Ukraine. The seminar put emphasis on Jewish devotion to the forefathers’ principles during the elitist expansion as well as during the Holocaust period. The children have defined the Hanukkah flame as a Miracle, happening with people who entirely follow Torah principles and ready to resist those who harm Jewish people, their traditions and sanctity. The children have shown brilliant awareness of the Hanukkah history, its traditions and principles.
