On April 26 and 27, 2018 Zhytomyr and Rivne hosted pedagogical seminars on the Holocaust History, organized by “Tkuma” Institute in cooperation with partners. Together with Zhytomyr Regional Institute of Advanced Teacher Training, the regional seminar was conducted having gathered about fifty teachers from Zhytomyr city and region. Together with Rivne Regional Institute of Advanced Teacher Training, regional and city seminars for history teachers were conducted. The educational sessions were held by Dr. Igor Shchupak, director of “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum.
Dr. Shchupak presented a new authorial interactive textbook on history for the tenth grade students, which aroused great interest of teachers. During the seminars participants talked about how past events are covered in school textbooks, on the peculiarities of teaching the themes of World War II and the Holocaust during history lessons.
