PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On March 21, educational seminar of "Tkuma" Institute with thesupport of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine was held in Poltava. Educational event was held at Poltava regional institute of postgraduate pedagogical education, a lot of effort into organizing of the seminar put Iryna Mishenko, methodologist of the social and humanitarian disciplines department of Poltava regional institute of postgraduate pedagogical education. About 60 teachers of history, leaders of methodological associations and methodologists from the city and region became the participants of the event.

 Researchers of the Museum «Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine» held several events, which concerned the modern history teaching, the history of World War II and the Holocaust in Ukraine, as well as discussion on new ways, forms and means of forming schoolchildren competencies, defined by the concept «New Ukrainian School».

 In particular, Valentyn Rybalka, researcher of the Museum told in his report on «Genocides in the Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” exhibitions on the Holodomor example», how museums exhibitions can help teachers to hold thematic lessons and What features has a reflection on the Holodomor in the Jewish Museum.

 Dr. Denys Shatalov, head of scientific department lecture-conversation was devoted to the peculiarities of working with visual and documentary sources on the history of the Holocaust, in particular the nuances of their critical analysis and approaches to using historical sources diring history lessons.

 A separate lesson was devoted to the new standards for school history education and new history textbooks. Denys Shatalov and Zoryana Bondar told the participants about this. They also introduced the participants to the seminar’s on developments in this area, in particular, presented a new school textbook for the 6th forms, the authors of which are Dr. Igor Shchupak and Iryna Piskariova, head of "Tkuma" Institute educational department (together with Olena Burlaka), and a textbook for 11th forms, written by Igor Shchupak.
