In August 7-8, 2017 Krakow hosted international educational seminar for educators organized by “Tkuma” Institute in cooperation with Galicia Jewish Museum.

The main task of the seminar was to improve the skills of Ukrainian teachers in teaching World War II and the Holocaust history. That is why the program included a variety of activities aimed at better understanding the history of the extermination of the Jewish population of Europe.

Part of the seminar was held at Galicia Jewish Museum, where participants had the opportunity to meet museum staff responsible for educational programs and discuss various strategies for teaching school and university students World War II and Holocaust history.

Educational guided tours were also included into the program and gave participants an opportunity to visit and learn about the ancient Jewish district of Kazimierz, to see the buildings of two ancient synagogues, as well as visit the old Jewish cemetery. Within the framework of the seminar, the educators also visited the Museum “Oskar Schindler’s Factory” and visited the territory of the former Jewish ghetto.
