On September 27, 2017 the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine welcomed All-Ukrainian Seminar for History Teachers “Teaching World War II and the Holocaust History Teaching: Modern Challenges and Opportunities”, organized by “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies in cooperation with the MESU.

New history curriculum, including the teaching of World War II history, were in the focus. The seminar was attended by Pavlo Khobzei, Deputy Minister of the MESU; Raisa Yevtushenko, Chief Specialist of the MESU; Prof. Tetiana Ladychenko, Prof. Viktor Brekhunenko and teachers from all regions of Ukraine – rom Galicia to Donetsk and Lugansk regions as well as Crimea.

In particular, Pavlo Khobzei noted the importance of modern education reform and emphasized the special role of historical education that shapes the nation. His participation in the seminar is another testimony of the MESU openness and attempt to hear the thoughts of teachers.
