On February 18, the meeting for representatives of travel agencies in the framework of the “Menorah” Center initiative on development of tourism in Dnipropetrovsk was held. The event was held in a popular European format of business breakfast and brought together over 50 participants.
Svitlana Yermakova, “Menorah” Center General Director, opened the event. She noted that the current economic situation in the country limits the ability of Ukrainians to travel abroad. So travel agencies have to offer them an alternative – not less interesting program of domestic tourism. Dnipropetrovsk City and “Menorah” Center can become a platform for the provision of tourism services and could satisfy the most demanding tastes of travelers.


Natalia Pershyna, Director of Department of Culture, Tourism, Nationalities and Religions run by Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, put emphasis on the popularity of business tourism in Dnipropetrovsk region and stressed the need to develop this area.
Natalia Chernyshova, Head of the Department of International Relations and Investment run by City Council, sais that tourism in Dnipropetrovsk is just beginning to develop and the city should look for certain zest that will attract residents of Ukraine and from abroad.
Natalia Dotsenko, CEO of “SENTOZA Tour”, spoke about the activities of the company and invited those present to work on joint projects. According to Ms. Dotsenko, agencies must now combine their efforts to create an attractive touristic area in Dnipropetrovsk.
Dr. Igor Shchupak, “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” Director, spoke about touristic opportunities of the Museum that attract visitors as a source of historical knowledge, as well as by its unique multimedia installations, artistic and unusual design solutions.
Oleg Rostovtsev, board member of Dnipropetrovsk Jewish Community, described the features of religious tourism. From the speech of Mr. Rostovtsev participants learned about the expectations of religious tourists, in particular Jews, and how to make their journey unforgettable.
Iryna Koshelenko, Executive Manager of the hotel complex “Menorah Hotel”, presented the program of “Menorah” Center which is scheduled for Jewish Pesach.
At the end of the breakfast the participants were invited to the guided tour around Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” and “Menorah” Center.
