On October 20, “Tkuma” Institute celebrated anniversary– 20 years of existence. We have organized several festive events on this occasion:

– Performance of Yulia Mandych, amazing soloist of Leonid Kohan Dnipropetrovsk Philharmonic and singers of Mykhailo Hlinka Dnipropetrovsk Academy of Music. The guests could listen to jazz, classics and contemporary hits. We would like to thank sincerely our longtime friendship and partnership Esther Takhteryna for her help to organize the performances!

– Round table “Twenty years after, or “Tkuma” gathers friends”. Together with Anna Hriholaia (Birman) from The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) and Oleh Rostovtsev, head of Dnipro Jewish community press service we told the guests how in 1999 “Tkuma” All-Ukrainian Holocaust Study Center was created, what problems we had to face with, and how, finally, the small center has become a powerful scientific and educational institution which organizes a system for studying and teaching the Holocaust, World War II history and tolerance in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and partners from Canada, the USA, Germany, Poland, France and many-many others. It was a pleasure to receive congratulations from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Institute of History of National Academy of Ukraine and from our other partners.

Presentation of the documentary “The Righteous” became an integral part of the round table. (director Yevhen Titaremko, producer Nataliia Khazan) – because the topic of the Jews rescue during the Holocaust is one of the key topics in the research activities of “Tkuma” Institute. Many scenes from this documentary were filmed at Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”, and our staff became the scientific advisors of the film. The documentary aroused great interest among the audience, an active discussion and questions to the documentary producer – Nataliia Khazan evidenced that.

We would like to thank very much to everyone who joined our anniversary!
