PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

"Tkuma" Institute has experience in organization and conduction of educational events for school and university students, school teachers. In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, regional institutes of advanced teacher training, "Tkuma" Institute organized special system of seminars for improvement of teachers' skills.

"Tkuma" Institute has unique experience in creating textbooks. School History textbooks created by "Tkuma" Institute won All-Ukrainian State Contests and were released in hundreds of thousands of copies.

"Tkuma" Institute effectively cooperates with regional office of Junior Academy of Sciences. On the base of "Tkuma" Institute winter and summer sessions of JAS are conducted. During this events school students have an opportunity to work with the Holocaust museum holdings, consult the Institute and Museum research associates and meet famous Ukrainian and foreign scholars.

In October 09, 2018 “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum welcomed history teachers from Donetsk region. Educators from Dobropillia, led by methodologist Lidiia Denysova, joined the guided tour through the Holocaust Museum exhibition, conducted by Dr. Olena Ishchenko, research associate, and Dr. Denys Shatalov, deputy head of the Research Department.

On September 27, 2018 the regular regional seminar of “Tkuma” Institute, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” and Dnipro Academy of Continuing Education took place. The history teachers of Dnipropetrovsk region visited the Holocaust Museum (educational guided tour was conducted by Vladyslav Bazylevsky), talked with Iryna Piskariova, head of “Tkuma” Institute educational programs, and Dr. Igor Shchupak about the system of reforming the school education in Ukraine. During the meeting with educators, Dr. Igor Shchupak presented a new textbook “Introduction to History” for the 5th grade, written together with Iryna Piskariova and the winner of the "Teacher of the Year" contest Olena Burlaka. Ms. Burlaka was present at the pedagogical seminar, so she had the opportunity to personally tell about the most interesting moments in the creation of this textbook. The proposed style of presentation of the material and interactive tasks caused a great interest of the teachers.

September 27-29, 2018, Dnipro welcomed Final of the XV International Contest “Lessons of War and Holocaust - Lessons of Tolerance” organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies.

On September 21, 2018 Mykolaiv welcomed presentation of “Tkuma” Institute Holocaust Mobile Exhibitions, dedicated to the 77th anniversary of Babyn Yar tragedy

During August 28 – September 02, 2018 Mykolaiv region hosted Youth Summer Forum, organized by International Jewish student organization “Hillel”. “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum traditionally took part in the development and organization of the educational program of the event.
