PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On October 25, 2023, a meeting of the Scientific Council of the journal “Wojna i Pamięć” was held at the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk, Dr. Igor Shchupak participated as a member of it.

Since 2019, 4 issues of the journal have been published, and the fifth is currently being published, dedicated to pedagogical problems in preserving the memory of the Second World War. The journal has already received recognition and high praise in the Polish academic environment.

At the meeting of the Scientific Council, strategies for the development of the Polish magazine and cooperation with the journal of “Tkuma” Institute – “Holocaust Studies: A Ukrainian Focus” were defined, in particular. Regarding the latter, we agreed to place on the pages of our journal reviews of scientific publications of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk and “Tkuma” Institute; holding joint Ukrainian-Polish scientific forums.

And the 7th issue of the Polish journal, which will be published in 2025, is planned to be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. Among the main issues that will be proposed for consideration:

- the results of World War II and the modern war of Russia against Ukraine;

- the Holocaust lessons and other genocides, in particular the modern genocide of the Ukrainian people by the Russian Federation;

- diplomatic, military-technical and other aspects of the Second World War and their impact on the present, etc.

“It is obvious that an extremely important prerequisite for Ukraine's victory in the war against Russia is the support of Ukraine by our allies, among which Poland has a special place, Dr. Shchupak emphasized. – Ukrainian-Polish understanding on the basis of common values, despite differences in national historical memory, plays a major role in strengthening alliance relations. Therefore, we continue the study and scientific discussion of the history of the Second World War and the Holocaust”.
