PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On December 13, 2015 “Tkuma” Institute conducted pedagogical seminar for history teachers who are supervising students of Dnipropetrovsk department of Junior Academy of Science.

Teaching staff got acquainted with innovative approaches to teaching history in secondary school introduced by Dr Igor Shchupak, “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” director. He also presented a new textbook on the history of the Middle Ages for the 7th grade pupils, which caused great interest among teachers.

At the end of the seminar Iryna Piskariova, “Tkuma” Institute educational programs coordinator, told about current “Tkuma” Institute educational programs. In particular, she announced the 13th International Contest for pupils, students and teachers “Lessons of War and the Holocaust - Lessons of Tolerance”, which will take place in September 2016 in Kyiv, and a number of major events (including youth project) dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Babyn Yar tragedy.
