On December 26, Vladyslav Bazylevskyi, “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” researcher participated at opening of memorial board in honor of Zinaida Mekelito, the Righteous among the Nations – woman who together with her daughter rescued the Jews from extermination during the Holocaust. The event was held at Kryvyi Rih central city lyceum. During the years of city occupation by the Nazis, Zinaida Mekelito worked as a teacher (school №25 at that time), so by the decision of the City Council №357 of 17.07.2019 “On the memorial board approval installation in honor of Zinaida Mekelito” determined exactly this place for the memorial sign installation. Viktor Hukailo, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” design director developed the memorial board layout.
