PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

The School of Young Guides HistoryLabs is coming to the end. On July 25, participants of our project went to the penultimate practical lesson, which was dedicated to the history of the Holocaust in our city.

Dr. Yehor Vradii, deputy director for research work of “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” conducted a lesson-guided tour. Together with Dr. Vradii, the future guides visited the places where during World War II there was a mass extermination of the Jewish population of the then Dnipropetrovsk. Among such tragic places – in particular, the territory of the new Jewish cemetery, where today is the memorial complex “Matseva”, the intersection of Yanhelya Street / Enerhetychna Street and Yuriy Gagarin Park. The participants of the School also visited the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Psychiatric Hospital in the residential area “Igren”, where patients of this hospital were destroyed during the Holocaust.

Another workshop related to the history of our city is waiting for the young guides. And at the end of the project the best participants will receive official certificates of guides.
