PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On February 26, the second Zoom-meeting of the project “EXODUS - 2022. Testimony of Jewish refugees of the russian-Ukrainian war” was held. This project is dedicated to documenting and preserving personal testimonies of Jewish refugees about the days following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Dr. Igor Shchupak was invited to take part in the discussion.

For some heroes, this is the second evacuation – the first was in 1941, the second – in the spring of 2022. People's Artist of Ukraine, actor and director of the KVK team of Dnipropetrovsk State University of the 1990s Yevhen Chepurnyak became the guest of the online meeting. The war began for him on February 24 at five in the morning with a powerful explosion, a black mushroom in front of the windows and broken windows in his parents' room. Parents, who are 187 years old, and who already experienced all this in 1941. They talked about the amazing story of their salvation during the Holocaust (recorded in “Yad Vashem”) and the current path to Israel.

The topic of “denazification” and the consequences of russian aggression was also discussed by invited experts and guests of the project. You can watch the video recording of the broadcast by the link.
