PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On April 03, 2017 Odesa hosted pedagogical seminars and practical sessions dedicated to the history of World War II and the Holocaust conducted by “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum.

In cooperation with Odesa Regional Institute of Advanced Teacher Training “Tkuma” Institute organized regional and city pedagogical seminars that gathered teachers of history, Ukrainian language and literature. Dr. Igor Shchupak, director of “Tkuma” Institute, conducted classes on methods of teaching the history of World War II and the Holocaust during the history lessons. Participants also discussed reform of history education, new curriculum and textbooks.

Educators also conducted world history lesson for students of 9 grade of secondary school #35. Students had an opportunity to work with new textbook by Dr. Shchupak and lean about new approach to the study of history.

Valentyn Rybalka, “Tkuma” Institute research associate, conducted a lesson on the Holocaust history for seniors. The lesson was accompanied by demonstration of mobile exhibitions and educational posters created by “Tkuma” Institute dedicated to the Holocaust in Odesa and the feat of Righteous Among the Nations. For junior school students Iryna Piskariova, coordinator of educational programs, organized and conducted lesson of tolerance.
