PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On December 9, the historical webinar “Portrait of a historian: Vladyslav Hrynevych” was organized and held by “Tkuma” Institute, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” and “Orion” Publishing House.

The speakers of the event were:

Vladyslav Hrynevych – Candidate of Historical Sciences, Doctor of Political Sciences, Director of the Institute of Territory and Landscape Research in Memory of Babyn Yar, leading researcher at History. I.F. Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Member of Academical Committee of UJE (Canada – USA), member of Ukrainian-German Historical Commission (Kyiv). Igor Shchupak (Dnipro) was the moderator of the webinar.

During the webinar, the following issues were discussed, in particular:

1. Sources on the history of World War II and the Holocaust, on which the work of the scientist is based.

2. Historian and historical discoveries: socio-political sentiments in Ukraine on the eve and in the first years of World War II and the “Jewish question”.

3. Development of new concepts: the policy of remembrance of World War II and the Holocaust in Ukraine.
