PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On October 28, Ukraine celebrates – victims commemoration day on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Nazi invaders expulsion from the Ukrainian territories. Exactly this day, Holocaust remembrance ceremony dedicated to the anniversary of the Jews mass extermination beginning in our city during the Holocaust was held Y. Haharin park in Dnipro.

Members of the city's Jewish community, war veterans, Dnipro Levi Yitzchak Schneerson Jewish school “Or Avner Chabad – Lubavitch” students, representatives of the city's public were presented at the ceremony. Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and Dnipropetrovsk region Shmuel Kaminetzki, stressed the importance of preserving the memory of the Holocaust as a global tragedy and expressed the hope, that next year a commemoration ceremony will be held near the updated memorial with the names of the people who was shot there.

Illia Dubinsky, second secretary of the Embassy of Israel in Ukraine, director of the Israeli Cultural Center in Dnipro, Raffael Heltzer, head of “Sohnut-Ukraine” branch offices, Mickey Katsif, head of the “Joint” in northeastern Ukraine, Oleh Rostovtsev, mayor advisor, Dr. Igor Shchupak, Semen Fridman, representative of the Jewish Veterans Council made speeches on the importance of these tragic pages of our past memory preserving.

Oleksandr Fridkis, head of religious affairs read the Kadisha remembrance prayer for all the Holocaust victims.
