We are pleased to inform you that peer-reviewed annual journal “Holocaust Studies: A Ukrainian Focus” by “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies was included in the List of scientific professional publications of Ukraine category B (historical specialties - 032). Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 09.02.2021 №157 (Appendix 4).

On February 23, Ukraine and Dnipro commemorates the tragic death of the leader of the Crimean Tatar people, the first Prime Minister of the Crimean Democratic Republic Noman Çelebicihan (1918) and the memory of the victims of the Soviet deportation of the Vainakh people (1944). It was on this day in 1944, that Operation NKVD launched Operation “Chechevitsa”, during which approximately 600,000 Chechens and Ingush were deported to Central Asia and Kazakhstan.

On February 16, a group of museologists and librarians from Dnipro have visited Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” and “Tkuma” Institute. A good friend and partner of “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” Dmytro Kayuk – director of municipal enterprise “Ethnographic Parks of Dnipro” initiated the meeting.

Recently, the head of the research department at “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” Dr. Iryna Radchenko, was a guest at one of the episodes of the “Alef” weekly Jewish TV program. Together with the host of the program Oleh Rostovtsev, they discussed the activities of various humanitarian organizations to rescue Jews during the Holocaust.
